Boozehound Reading at Borders

I like to think I know a thing or two about booze, generally speaking, but when I met Jason Wilson this summer (over Twitter no less) (and yes, he talks back) (and yes, he will give you bar recommendations based on the city block you happen to be standing on) I realized I was merely a boozing babe.

So here’s the shameless plug for my friend: Jason has a new book out…Boozehound: On the Trail of the Rare, the Obscure, and the Overrated in Spirits. If you’ve been reading Jason’s column in the Washington Post, you’ll know he has a voice and a story to tell and generally makes his readers want to drink at 9am every Wednesday.

So why wouldn’t you want to head over to Borders at 18th & L at 6:30pm tonight to hear him read from, chat about and sign his book! The book is, “Part travelogue, part spirits history, and part recipe collection…a journalistic excursion into lesser-known, forgotten, and misunderstood spirits for adventurous imbibers of liquors, bitters, and elixirs from around the world.”

Oh wait! Talking about booze isn’t enough to entice you? Todd Thrasher (of PX, Restaurant Eve, Majestic, etc etc) will be mixing cocktails for the audience simultaneously. Read: free happy hour.

I’ll be there, so come on down and say hi! To me. Not to Jason.

  1. Why wouldn’t I want to head over to Borders at 18th & L at 6:30pm tonight to hear him read from, chat about and sign his book!? Because I’m going to my alma matter to hear Chuck Todd speak about the upcoming elections :( hard to believe I’m choosing politics over booze…
