Weekend Reads: Bergdorf, Asparagus and Dragon Eggs

Dragon Egg

Behold. My obsession with Game of Thrones, now firmly displayed on my desk at work! I’ve raved about the books for so long (and so adamantly) that my friend Cecelia ended up reading them and loving them just as much. Our shared obsession with Jon Snow and all things Westeros meant receiving a dragon egg (official Game of Thrones merch, btw) for my birthday! Of course I loved it the moment I saw it, but then I got to work and realized it also matched my Rifle Paper Co. coasters, well, magine that moment of excitement!

Despite being a pleasantly slow week, I’m exhausted. I’m looking forward to sleeping in and going to the 14th & U farmers market for some produce. I have an occasion to do some cooking for on Monday and I’m thinking I may go all out! Or I’ll just serve cheese (the best damn cheese!) and crackers. We’ll see. But, on to the weekend reads….

Reporters without borders has a brilliant new ad campaign. Let’s just say there’s a lot of…the finger…involved.

Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf looks like the next best fashion documentary since September Issue!

Three words: homemade. Nutter. Butters. Considering these are among my favorite processed foods, my inner fat kid squeed when I saw this!

NPR is finger snapin’ sassy this week with the roll out of She Works: Note To Self. SWNTS is a crowd sourced project that collects quips, sass and advice that helps women get through those rough days and weeks at work.

Large-scale calligraphy (sometimes graffiti style). My wrist hurts just looking at it.

When I’m not obsessed with Game of Thrones, I’m obsessed with Scandal. Behold: 24 reasons Olivia and Fitz are the hottest couple on

TV. Now, pardon me while I clean up my drool.

Here are dance move charts for TV and film’s most infamous groovy moves. Including the Risky Business dance, Singing In The Rain (with umbrella) and Brett’s Angry Dance from Flight of the Conchords.

On lipstick and beauty, from my friend Jamie.

Look At These F***ing Journalists! With an appearance by yours truly and friend John!

Who wore it better? Nicole Richie or Ursula?

19 emotions we don’t have words for in English. Is this why I feel so…um…I don’t know how to say it…all the time?

  1. Ah ah, of course you can get away with these types of print ads in Paris ;-) I’ll ask my parents to snap a pic if they pass one… thanks for the tip.
