Some people, women mostly, take a bite of cake and there’s something about the way they put it in their mouth…the way their lips close around the fork…the way their face expresses pure pleasure. These people look sexy when they eat. Watching these people eat makes other people want to eat what they’re eating.
Watching these people eat makes me want to make what they’re eating. I don’t eat sexy…I’ve watched myself in the mirror before (what!? you would too if you noticed these things).
So, I’m at Kramer’s Books waiting for my friend to show up so we can hang at the bar for a bit, and I’m browsing the cookbooks. Browse, browse. Ina Garten. Browse, browse. Martha Stewart. Browse, browse. Nigella Lawson. Browse, hey wait! She’s one of those sexy eater people!
Okay maybe she’s just a sexy person period. Anyway, I had always thought Nigella’s recipes were kinda difficult…but upon closer inspection of “How To Be A Domestic Goddess: Baking and the Art of Comfort Cooking” I was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients are simple, the techniques a slight step up from simple (hey, a girl needs a challenge!) and the recipes are new twists on old classics.
I bought the book and will voraciously read through it all this weekend! I can’t wait to report to you, dear readers, how my sexy cooking goes!
